The world of Declassified is full of paranoia and espionage, and that comes across well - at least for as long as the story lasts. Unfortunately, the game's development cycle was rushed, which shows in the final product. The graphics are messy and don't showcase what the Vita is capable of.

One of the few positive aspects of Declassified is its world-building. It pulls on prior narrative beats set up by previous titles, which makes it slightly stronger than it would be otherwise. However, even the game's final 'boss' is a disappointment because he's never seen before and has ties to the overall Black Ops narrative.

Another issue with the game is that there's no character development whatsoever. Mason and Woods are completely unlikeable mercenary jerks who spout stupid one-liners but say little else, while mission briefings come from an unnamed narrator between levels. Overall, Declassified is a game that has some elements worth commending, but it's ultimately a disappointment due to its rushed development cycle and lack of polish.
